DeMerchant, Robert W., born Aug. 3, 1942, in Houlton, ME, passed into eternal rest on Sat. Aug. 5, 2017, following a long battle with Lewy Body Dementia. A loving son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, is survived by his children, daughter Lisa, sons Eric (Kristy) and Sean (Tricia), grandchildren, Joshua, Robert (Kanaly), Mary and Braylon, and long-time companion, Karen Johnson, all of New York. He also leaves behind his mother, Pauline, brothers William (Joan), Daniel (Linda) and Kieth, and many nieces and nephews, in Connecticut. He is predeceased by his father, Robert J., wife Mary (McCloskey), and grandson Sean Jr. A veteran of the US Navy and Army Reserve. He will be laid to rest next to his wife of 30 years, Friday Aug. 11, at 12 noon, in the Saratoga National Cemetery, 200 Duell Road, Schuylerville, NY, with full military honors.
