Paul Robert Hayes, 77, died February 25th 2018 at Riverside Nursing Home in Castleton-On-Hudson, after a 15 year battle with multiple sclerosis. Paul was born in Troy, NY on January 21, 1941, to the late Adeline Schermerhorn Hayes and Robert Joseph Hayes. He attended LaSalle Institute in Troy and St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vt. After graduation he served in the United States Navy as a sonar specialist on a destroyer escort during the Vietnam era. Paul worked for 20 years for Yonder Farms in North Greenbush. Upon his retirement at 60 years old he resided at Ogden Mills Apartments in Cohoes New York before his residency at Riverside Nursing Home. He was pre-deceased by his brother Mark P. Hayes. Survivors include his son Robert M. Hayes of Troy, and his sister Susan A. Hayes of Troy. Services will be private.
