Obituary

TROY -

Linda Marie Laviolette, 78, of Troy, New York, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026, at home surrounded by the family she loved and devoted her life to.

Born on September 12, 1947, in Troy, New York, Linda was a lifelong resident of Troy. She earned her degree from Hudson Valley Community College and worked as a clerk at Cluett & Peabody in Troy, but her greatest calling was always her family.

On March 26, 1966, Linda married the love of her life, William (Bill) Laviolette, in Troy, New York. Together they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, and an open door for anyone who needed it. This year would have marked their 60th wedding anniversary — a testament to a love that was steadfast and enduring. Bill, her beloved “Poppy,” preceded her in death on February 12, 2022, yet Linda carried that love with her every day that followed.

Known to her grandchildren simply as “Nana,” Linda was a mother in the truest sense — raising her four children and opening her heart and home to help nurture the generations that followed. Her presence was a constant source of comfort, guidance, and unconditional love for children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren alike.

She is survived by her four children, Melissa, Heidi, William (Melanie), and Priscilla Feliciano (Willie); her siblings Sally Soloski, Esther Cioffi, and Arthur Middlestead (Cheryl); and her grandchildren Anthony Laviolette (Erin), Kylie Wood (Al), Vanessa Feliciano (Ryan Ricciardelli), Isabela Feliciano, Noelia Feliciano, and Jackson Laviolette. She was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Annabelle and Konnor Wood (children of Kylie); and Allison, Emily, and Haley (children of Anthony and Erin). Linda was preceded in death by her beloved husband William (Bill) Laviolette, and her brothers-in-law Kurt Soloski and Pete Cioffi. Linda Marie Laviolette leaves behind not just a family, but a legacy — one measured not in things, but in the lives she shaped, the meals she made, the hands she held, and the love she gave without reservation. She will be profoundly missed and forever remembered.

Visitation will be held this Friday, May 1, 2026 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street), Troy, NY 12180 · (518) 235-5610
