TROY-
It is with deep sadness that the family of Mr. Lawrence L. St. Andrew announces his unexpected passing on January 6, 2026, following a brief illness. He was 68 years old.
A lifelong resident of Troy, Lawrence was born and raised in the community he loved. He attended Brittonkill Schools and grew into a man defined by his industrious spirit and steadfast loyalty. As a self-employed contractor, Lawrence established a reputation for excellence, particularly in roofing. Known widely as a "jack of all trades," he possessed the rare ability to fix or build nearly anything, lending his talents to countless projects throughout his storied career.
Lawrence was more than a craftsman; he was a pillar of his community. Described by those who knew him as a true and loyal friend, he earned the profound respect of his peers through his integrity and his willingness to lend a hand to anyone in need.
His greatest legacy remains his family. He was the devoted son of the late Lawrence A. St. Andrew and Jane (Dupree) St. Andrew Hemmingway, and the stepson of Henry "Hank" Hemmingway. He is survived by his children, Larry St. Andrew, Andrea St. Andrew, and Kyle Beauregard (St. Andrew). His capacity for love extended further to Janina Becker and Clinton Thomas, Jr., whom he raised as his own.
Lawrence’s memory will be cherished by his sisters, Penny Dellio and Kristina Morin, and his legacy lives on through his grandchildren: Kira, Liliana, Jason, Hendrix, Rulando, and Lawrenzo, as well as his bonus grandchildren, Wallis Ryder, Jr. and Melina Ryder. He also leaves behind several nieces and nephews who held him in the highest regard.
In his passing, Lawrence is reunited with his beloved son, Jason St. Andrew; his brother, Lee St. Andrew; and his sister, Della St. Andrew Reed.
A man of quiet strength and enduring friendship, Lawrence L. St. Andrew will be deeply missed by the city of Troy and all who had the privilege of calling him a friend, a father, and a brother.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and may call from 4-6PM on Friday, January 16, 2026 in the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, NY 12180. The calling hours will conclude at 6 o’clock with a time to share memories of Lawrence.
