PLEASANTDALE –
Karen A. Paglia, a beloved resident of Pleasantdale, passed away peacefully at the age of 58 on December 9, 2025. She was surrounded by the love of her family at Samaritan Hospital.
Born and raised in Troy, Karen built a life rooted in the community she loved. The daughter of the late Christy C. Paglia and Doris H. (DeFreest) Paglia, and step daughter of Donald Gratton. Karen attended Lansingburgh Central Schools before furthering her education at Hudson Valley Community College. She dedicated her career to accounting, working in the field until her health declined.
Karen found immense joy in simple pleasures. She loved the excitement of attending concerts, cherished moments spent with her family, including attending penny socials, and dedicated herself to caring for her beloved pets, while also volunteering at the Pleasantdale Fire Department and Fire Hall. Her presence brought light to those around her.
She is survived by her loving fiancé and life partner, Guy J. Stoliker, who was by her side through everything. Karen is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, John (LeeAnn Sherman) Paglia, and her brother-in-law, Robert (the late Patty) Berkley, who will miss her dearly. Her legacy continues through her numerous nieces and nephews: Randi Paglia, Breanne (Jeremy) Crobok, Dana Santiago, Christopher (Dana) Paglia, Mason Paglia, Gavin Crobok, Ronnie St. Jock, Jr., and Tony (Amy) Berkley. She leaves behind many cousins as well, her dearest close cousin Louise Gamble and a dear friend of the family, Lynn Rigney, whom she considered a sister. Karen was predeceased by her two sisters, Doris St. Jock Maville and Patricia Berkley.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects and visit with Karen's family from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025. Services will be held at the Gardner Earl Memorial Chapel, located within Oakwood Cemetery at 186 Oakwood Ave, Troy, NY 12182. Committal and interment will follow the visitation within the cemetery grounds.
