Troy, NY ~ John J. Fisher, Sr., 88, of Troy, passed away on August 2, 2016. Husband of the late Elizabeth Fisher, father of William (Kathleen) and Roger Fisher, and also the late Elizabeth Weatherwax and John Fisher, Jr. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. Fondly remembered as "Troy's number one Yankee fan!" John retired from Price Chopper after 35 years of service. He was an all-around sportsman and played baseball and softball in Troy amateur leagues. But most of all his family was the most important thing in his life. Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday (Aug. 4th) from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at RIVERVIEW FUNERAL HOME, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street) Troy, where prayers will be offered at 12 noon. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Troy.
