Hugh J. Wilkes, 62, of Troy, passed away on September 14, 2018 at Samaritan Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born on February 16. 1956 In Oceanside, California, Hugh was the son of Gerald Wilkes and the late Peggy (Thurber) Wilkes. Husband of the late Donna J. Wilkes until her passing in 2004. Loving father of Nancy Lewis (Anthony), Christina Stauder, Paul WIikes (Dawn) and James Wilkes. Cherished grandfather of Joseph Lewis (Tamara), Connor Knight, Vincent Lewis, lzlck Wilkes, Brooke Wilkes, Caden Wilkes, Keaghan Wilcox, Hannah Stauder, Chase Wilkes and Great-grandfather of Jace Lewis, Ava Lewis Dearest brother of Deborah Kantorski, Tina Wilkes, Gerald Wilkes, Jr. (Joy) Beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews who also survive. Hugh enlisted in the US Army in 1974 and received an honorable discharge in 1977 for his faithful service. Hugh was a simple man, who enjoyed fishing in his past time and basketball in his youth. He taught all of his children how to play the sport. He will be sorely missed. A committal service with military honors will commence at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, September 21st in the Gerald B.H.
