David Francis Nagy, 62, of Brunswick, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2026, at Samaritan Hospital in Troy, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on April 7, 1963, in Cortland, NY, David was the son of the late Joseph Jesse and Kathleen Frances (Whalen) Nagy. He was raised in Deerfield, NY, and became a long-time resident of Brunswick in 1987. David was a dedicated lifelong learner, having graduated from Whitesboro Central School and earning a Masters in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, NY.
David had a successful career as a Computer Consultant most recently with Bits & Bytes in Albany, NY. Beyond his professional life, he was an active member of his community and various organizations. His memberships included the Knights of Columbus, Our Lady of Victory, and the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). He was also a life-long member and valued advisor to Alpha Phi Omega at RPI.
David is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa Anne (Greiner) Nagy. They were married on October 20, 1990, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Whitesboro, NY, a union of 35 years.
He leaves behind three beloved children: Helen Elizabeth Nagy, Jessica Lynn Nagy and Thomas Evan Nagy. He is also survived by his two siblings, James Michael Nagy and Maryanne Catherine Nagy, along with many other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, in the Chapel of the Riverview Funeral Home, 218 2nd Avenue (corner of 104th Street), Troy, NY 12180.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Thomas Morrette at 12:15 PM on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at Our Lady of Victory Church, 55 North Lake Ave, Troy, NY 12180. All are welcome to attend. The Rite of Committal will follow the mass in St. Mary's Cemetery, Troy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Victory or the Knights of Columbus. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family online at TheRiverviewFuneralHome.com.
