Charles Arthur Sorel, 77, of Troy, NY, passed away peacefully on September 9, 2026.

Born and raised in Troy, Charles attended Troy City Schools and later made his home in Petersburgh, NY. He was employed for many years at Cuomo Meat Packers and Garden Way Manufacturing.

Charlie cherished spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and love of life. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing, and loved riding his Harley. Charlie had a special love for animals and was affectionately known as the “Dog Whisperer” for his remarkable connection with them.

He was predeceased by his parents, Arthur Frances Sorel and Helen Agnes Sorel, and his brother, Arthur Sorel.

Charlie is survived by his children, Scott Sorel, Kristie Sorel, Brandon Loux, and Jason Loux. He is also survived by his brothers, David and Bruce Sorel; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Charlie leaves behind a lifetime of cherished memories with his family and friends. His kindness, love of the outdoors, devotion to his family, and special connection with animals will be remembered by all who knew him.

In accordance with Charlie’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no formal services.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honor Charlie’s memory may make a donation to the American Cancer Society.

Charlie will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him.
